Summer Planting

Keeping with the summer time theme I decided to use the Potted Flower stamp from Amuse. Stamped in pallet noir and colored with my SU! watercolor crayons on SU! watercolor paper. Punched with my SU! scallop punch then backed with a circle of Amuse 4 bar note paper. That is then backed with SU! garden green that was punched with a large scallop punch. I dotted the garden green scallop with glaze yellow pen...not really showing in the scan...and it added a nice finishing touch. I used Amuse yellow 4bar note paper. The friends blossom sentiment is from Amuse.
I've been wanting this potted flower stamp for ages....finally broke down. *grin*

Summer Time ...

And the living is easy. That's one of my favorite songs. But you really don't want to hear me sing that song. *grin*
So I will post a few cards tonight that I think fit a Summer Time theme. This is an Elzybells stamp called Girl on Swing. Pretty much like the other card except I added some grass so she's not totally floating. Also darkened her dress.

Happy Days

Sunday, Monday, Happy Days.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Happy Days.
Thursday, Friday, Happy Days.
Saturday, What a day,
Groovin' all week with you.

This Amuse challenge was just the word "weekend" .... our interpretation. And this is the card I made to go with that word. I just love this Girl on a Swing image. I colored her with my SU! watercolor crayons. Card stock is Bazzill and the pink polka dot paper is SU!. The "happy day" sentiment is by Amuse and anchored with a flower brad. We all should play like children on the weekend!

Saturday Night Fever

Ugggg This one was a bit difficult for me...only because I didn't bring much patterened paper with me tonight.
I'm not really happy with this card.

Do The Hustle

We had to follow a sketch and could only take 30 minutes creating our card. Whew! Giving my old brain a workout. *grin*
This image is an oldie but a goodie from Amuse...Seattle Girl. Definitely one of my favorites. I masked the Rain drops. (since I'm house/dog sitting I only brought the basics with me...only pallet Noir ink. Wish I had thought to bring a blue for the rain drops) Colored the image with my SU! watercolor crayons and added some white dots with my white SU! pen. Don't think the scan shows the white dots on the umbrella. The blue is most likely Bazzill but the patterened paper is SU! from the 6x6 hostess paper pack.
I really love how this card turned out with the limited supplies I brought with me.

Amuse ~ Let It Be

I'm attempting to participate in the Amuse VMAA#2. Here's my submission...VMAAAPR08A.
I used Amuse/Elzybells Letter Writing with Wishing you happiness sentiment. Paper is from Bazzill...except for the yellow dotted which is Amuse. I used my SU! watercolor crayons to color the image.

Color Challenge

I decided to try my hand at Kristina's weekly color challenge. I did not have SU! So Saffron or Sahara Sand...so I went into my stash of paper and found some paper that was similar. I colored the image with my SU! watercolor crayons. I have never participated in a color challenge before and it was a bit of a challenge. *grin* But it definitely got me thinking out of the box.

I Feel Like Jepeto

I was beginning to feel like Jepeto from the Disney movie making these baby shower shoes. *grin*
But I finished all 30 shoe favors with time to spare. Sorry this picture is a bit dark...I have a terrible time getting a good picture. I loved how these turned out and so did everyone at the baby shower.I ordered the pattern from Creative Cuts and More. I started out using the redline sticky tape that was recommended but switched to Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive when the shoe started to come undone. I purchased this adhesive at my local "Mikes" with a coupon. This stuff works wonderfully!

Guess what?!?!? My Amuse/Elzybells order will be delivered today!!!! Yeah...I'm so excited to play with some new stamps.

One Of My Favorite Cards

This is probably one of my favorite cards to make. I just love the bright spring colors with just a touch of SU! ribbon. This set is SU! Simply Said and well used/loved. I colored the flowers with my SU! markers after stamping with Pallet Noir. Card stock is Bazzill.
I'm probably going to be in trouble later this week. I went shopping online at Amuse and purchased some Amuse and a few Elzybells stamps. Trust me...I really splurged! *grin* Don't know who will be receiving a card from me with these new stamps....but I will have lots of fun stamping with these cuties!
I took a pic of the baby shoe favors but I just need to upload to my computer. I will post those in the next day or two.

Have a wonderful week and as always Thanks for stopping by!

Another Baby Onsie Card

Lots of babies being born in my family lately. This pink baby onsie card is for my DDIL's shower. I found this template on Lauren Meader .
I'm definitely not a ten minute card maker! LOL All cardstock is Bazzill except for a few scraps from the SU! hostess paper pack. Added a few eyelet for the snaps. The stamp is from a new SU! set and at the moment I honestly can't remember the name. *shame on me...I know*

Baby Shower Onsie Card

I needed to make a baby shower card for my niece who is expecting her first child...a boy. I found this baby onsie template over at SCS. You will need to scroll down to post #15 for instruction on how to print so it will fit onto your cardstock. This really is quite simple.
You know, even my DH was impressed with how this onsie card turned out and he rarely gives a hoot. *grin* I believe all the cardstock is Bazzill. I inked up my SU! Linen background stamp with a dark blue chalk ink. Layed the onsie on top and rolled my brayer over this to get good ink coverage. Then I used the edge of the chalk ink on the edges of the onsie. Gives it a bit of dimension. I found a pack of baby chipboard pieces in the $1 bin at target this past weekend. Backed the chipboard baby dimensional in a darker blue square scallop. Added three eyelets for the bottom snaps of a onsie. This came out really cute and wasn't difficult to complete at all. If you have a baby shower coming up...you have to try making a onsie card.

I'll be leaving tomorrow for a long weekend in Baltimore...family wedding.

Sister Kathy's Recipes

Yes Kathy....I do have a Sweet Potato Casserole recipe! LOL If you have a pot luck coming up or a family gathering...you have got to try this recipe!!! It is soooo good!
I used SU! paper, stamps and ink for this 6x6 recipe. Recipe was printed from my computer. I just used my fiskars decorated scissors (remember those?) for the bottom edge of the garden green CS. Just gives it an added touch. Ohhh I just love the Print Pack Papers of level 1 hostess gifts! And I've used quite a few of these sheets on the recipe pages.
This next recipe I haven't made yet...but Kathy says it's so good! Guaranteed to go right to your thighs. *grin*

For this recipe page I used Bazzill paper. I love the new Bloomin' Beautiful set by SU!...I used my watercolor crayons by SU! to color the flowers and pot. This looks good and is so easy. Punched it with my scallop punch and back with a Creative Memories circle. Added eyelets with the Cropadile.
Hope you all have enjoyed seeing some of my family favorite recipes.

I've been tagged!

I was tagged the other day by Rochelle. Check out her blog...she has some great projects and cards. I have to list 7 weird random things about myself. This could be difficult. *grin*

1. I have to brush my teeth before showering in the morning. I like to step out of the shower knowing I'm totally clean.
2. Hate when people leave cabinet doors partially open. Close it already!
3. I always put my left sock/shoe on first. I'm right handed.
4. Won't go in the pool till the water temp is at least 82.
5. I won't use a torn paper towel or kleenex. My grandson teases me about this.
6. The only pet my children had growing up were gold fish...and that didn't last long.
7. Absolutely hate clothes shopping.

So there you have it...some weird things I'm willing to share about yours truly. *grin*

Some Recipes Pages

I've been working on a 6x6 family recipe book for the past week as part of a wedding gift. I emailed my sisters and asked if they would send me some of their favorite family recipes. I'm just going to post a few and hope you all enjoy the recipes. This first recipe was submitted by my sister Terry...the mother of the groom.

I'll come back in later today and post some details.
