October Calendar Pages

Here are the 2008 and 2009 October Calendar Pages.
The 08 page image is A*Muse and colored with prisma pencils and blended with gamsol.
The 09 page images are SU!...colored with SU! watercolor crayons. I did a bit of masking on the 09 page.
Again....those two "dots" are from my scanner and they are not on the pages.

My Amuse Calendar

I know I've been MIA lately....Life, what can I say comes before my blog.
So far I've made up two of the Amuse Calendars. The one I'm posting today is in the A2 format. Unfortunately I don't have the Square format calendar...it has already been given as a gift. Actually the one I'm posting here is a gift but I "borrowed" it for a few days to post on my blog. *grin* Thanks Jennifer!

This is September 08 & 09 pages. Stamps are all Amuse. All images colored with my prisma pencils and blended with gamsol. The white and black linen card stock throughout the calendar is Neenah...love this cs! And I purchase it by the 250 sheet pack which really brings the price per sheet down quite a bit. The other cs if I remember correctly is Stampin' Up! You will notice the circle holes in the top...these were punched with my crop a dile and all pages were held together with 1 1/2" binder rings purchased from Staples
I will be posting more calendar pages in the following days.
Those two "dots" on the calendar pages are from my scanner...they are not on the pages.

New Home

Some of you know that my son and his family moved to Reno, Nevada recently. This is the card I made for them today and will be in tomorrow's mail.
I was at my local PaperPlus store yesterday buying a pack of Neenah (spelling???) white paper and came across these HeroArts sets. Can we say adorable!!! And these small sets don't break the budget...gotta love that.
I believe the CS is Bazzill. Ink is SU! I used my PrismaPencils to color the images. And I used my swiss dots CB folder for the background. Sage ribbon is from a ribbon share. I like how this card turned out.

I would like to ask you all to check out Carolyn King's blog. She is giving away amazing blog candy while helping the Alzheimer's Association.
This is my card that will be going out in tomorrow's mail to the caregivers at her late grandmother's home.

2009 A Muse Calendar

The 2009 A Muse Calendar is now available! This was created by Linda (owner of A Muse) as a way to raise funds for causes that are near and dear to her heart. Last year she raised $1,167 for Scleroderma Research. This year Linda asked all of the A Muse Addicts for suggestions for a worth cause. We came back with The Leukemia/Lymphoma Society since one of our own, Victoria, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease earlier this year.
This fundraiser is also near and dear to my heart....I have a sister who has been battling Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and I also have a young nephew who has been going through treatment for Leukemia.
Please visit the A Muse blog for all the details and to see tons of inspiration for what you can do with these little calendars. And to top it all off A Muse will match your generosity dollar for dollar for ALL calendar purchases through Sunday, September 21st. Please make sure you visit the A Muse website and choose a calendar TODAY! I'll be working on my calendar and will post sometime next week....but I didn't want you all to miss out on this great opportunity to donate to this worthy cause.

A Birthday Card

I've been wanting to use this MFT set ever since it arrived at my house the other week. But life got in the way.
I finally sat down today and created a card using this MFT set. You should have seen me trying to decide on the color combination and the patterned paper. Took me forever! And I'm still not sure about the paper. *grin*
I see all these fabulous cards made with this set...but I don't think this is one of them. *grin*
I colored everything with my prisma pencils and blended with gamsol and added stickles to all the bubbles for a bit of bling.

Yummy CupCakes

Trust me...these cupcakes were quite yummy!
My son, his wife and their three month old baby girl (Melanie) moved to Reno, Nevada on Sunday. But before they left we had a family dinner at my house. I made salad, chicken fettuccine and we had fresh french bread. I stopped at Costco and purchased cupcakes for dessert...those are some huge cupcakes! Now we all know that Costco sells everything in bulk and that is the case with cupcakes as well....20 cupcakes!!! So I knew I needed something to send everyone home with another cupcake. I found these Cupcake Treat Bags but I knew I needed the larger bags. I found the bags at Michael's and made the adjustments on the measurements. These actually fit one very large cupcake nicely.
And here are a few of the finished bags. These were a big hit and they will definitely be made again.
I will stop in tomorrow and post some details. Well I'm back with more details!

I used the white #3 paper sack from Michael's...4 5/8 x 2 7/8 x 8 5/8
I cut the 8 5/8" bag down to 6 3/8"
For the CS with the front flap.... 8" x 4 13/16" score at 1 1/2"
For the front piece of CS 6 1/2 x 4 13/16"
For the Chocolate Chip scallop 4 13/16 x 1 3/4

Hope these measurements help and don't confuse.
