A Christmas Candle

I now can post the Christmas candle I made for my daughter of her two boys. I wanted it to be a Christmas surprise...so I wasn't able to post earlier.
She loves it!

This is probably one of the easiest projects I have ever made. And it definitely has the Wow factor for the recipient.
Here's a link to the instructions on SCS....Photo Candle Instructions.
Have fun with this project....it really looks so much better in real life. *grin*

For Brendan

This card is for my grandson Brendan who is celebrating his 12th. birthday today. Happy Birthday Brendan! Where oh where did the time go?!?! When did you become a "preteen"? Yikes!

Brendan is into music big time...he has a guitar and he even has shoulder length hair. This image from AMuse "Rock Star" is the perfect image for his birthday card. I colored it in with my prismapencils and ran it through the oval nesties. Popped it up on SU! pop dots. I added a little bling for the rock star. *grin*
The blue card stock is SU!. And the patterned paper is by AMuse.
Cute card and I think it fits Brendan perfectly.

I just have one last batch of cookies to make/bake and I'm finished baking....whew. These are my all time favorite cookie and I only bake them once a year. Once you read the recipe you will know why...they are definitely not the most healthy cookie. But ohhhh so good! *grin*

Orange Coconut Drops

2 C. sugar 1 C. butter
3 eggs
1 tsp. each salt & baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. orange extract
3 1/2 C. flour 1 1/2 C. flaked coconut

In large bowl combine all ingredients
except flour and coconut.
Beat at low speed, scraping side of

By hand stir in flour and coconut
until well mixed. Drop by rounded
teaspoonfuls 2" apart on greased
cookie sheets. Bake near center of
350 oven for 8 to 12 minutes until

A Merry Christmas Wreath

For some reason this little car reminds me of It's A Wonderful Life. *grin*
This stamp is Holiday Car by AMuse.....soooo adorable!

Another quick Christmas card. Ran the top part of the white card stock through the cuttlebug snow folder. There are two scor-pal lines at the bottom for the AMuse sentiment. I colored the image with my prismapencils and blended with gamsol. For an added affect I used my clear gel glaze pen for the windshield, bumper and headlights. Looks cool in real life. I picked up this little idea from the AMuse blog. This was then backed with a piece of red cs that was scalloped punched. The red checked ribbon is by SU!.

Taking a short break...will be back in town on the 19th. But I probably won't blog till the 22nd.

Christmas Santa

My first time using the post date posting. Hope this works and it gets posted on Friday the 12th. *grin* Trying to be organized and post a few cards while I'm in Reno visiting my grand daughter. I'll be back to "live" posting somewhere around the 22nd.

This next Christmas card is an old CTMH Santa image. I have absolutely no clue which set this is from...but he sure is cute! I stamped the image with pallette noir ink then ran it through the oval nestie. Did the same with the red backing CS. I ran the white CS through the devine swirls cuttlebug folder and also backed this with the red cardstock. The red ribbon is MayArts from one of Jody's ribbon shares. I also sponged a red chalk ink on the white oval for a bit of dimension.
This was a very simple, quick card and I'm very please with how it all came together.

Jennifer's Snowman Card

Just wanted to post this cute CTMH (Close To My Heart) card before I go to the mall. Finishing my Christmas shopping today! WooHoo!!! I'm back from the mall and I'm officially finished Christmas shopping. *grin* Now it all needs to be wrapped. Uggg

This set is CTMH All Decked Out. My daughter gave me an early Christmas present and I love this new set! I haven't done paper piecing in ages and this card was fun putting together. I ran a sheet of blue cardstock through my cuttlebug snow folder and then placed my paper pieced snowman on top. Added a crystal bling to the snow mans' hat. This was all attached to a dark blue snowflake paper backing. The light blue ribbon is an old CTMH ribbon.
Love, love, love how this cute snowman came together. Thanks Jennifer!!!

Winter Scene Card

This is my first scene card. I've seen a lot of scene cards but have never had the confidence to try one. I'm really glad I made this snow scene card...it came out pretty nice for a first try.

The stamp set is SU! Lovely As A Tree and the sleigh is an old set by CTMH. I stamped the trees with a retired color...SU! Forest Foliage. Love this color and will miss it when my stamp pad dries out. The sleigh was stamped with a chalk ink. For the sky color I just used a light blue, also a purple that was sponged/layered to the white card stock. I also sponged garden green lightly around the tree base. I also used a PTI snowflake stamp that was versarmarked and embossed with a sparkly embossing powder. Don't think that shows to well in the scan.

I ran a piece of clear acetate through my CB Swiss Dots folder. This was then place over the stamped winter scene... to give the affect of falling snow. The acetate was then adhered with a small strip of mono in the corner. Definitely a different look and technique for me but I think I will keep this in mind for a future project.

And I did finish all my Christmas cards and they were mailed out on Saturday! WooHoo!
Now onto baking Christmas cookies.

Charlie Brown

Every time I look at this card I think of the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. *grin* My daughter says we have a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree...because our tree is 38 years old. LOL But it sure doesn't look like this poor little tree.
This is another AMuse stamp...Bare Tree which I just stamped in a brown ink and colored the lonely ornament in my scarlet red Prisma Pencil. I cut and embossed the cardstock with the scallop oval Nestabilities then did the same for the red backing cs. Dotted the scallops with my white SU! gel pen. Adhered the oval to dark green swiss dotted cuttlebugged cardstock. The ribbon is from Michaels dollar bin. Sentiment is SU!....but at the moment can't remember which set it is from.

A*Muse and Christmas Cards

It's another VMAA (Virtual Meeting of the AMuse Addicts) this Friday, December 5th. at 8PM Central time! And the theme (gotta have a theme) will be It's A Wonderful Life. Hmmm wonder what Geeta and the ladies have up their sleeves for us addicts. WooHoo...You know what I'm going to be doing Friday evening. *grin* So stay tuned for some fast card making.

I'm finally getting my Christmas cards finished and my plan is to have them mailed out by Saturday the absolute latest. This cute little card is made with one of my favorite AMuse stamps (actually it's not an AMuse stamp but an Elzybells stamp)...Girl with sleigh. And I love how it came together! I was having a tough time coming up with some designs and did a search for one particular site...didn't find it. But I found this great site for ideas and Sue uses the Cuttlebug a lot on her cards. Check Sue's site.

I used my Swiss Dots CB folder and also my scorpal for the embossing. I have two scorpal embossed lines at the bottom...below the sentiment...but they aren't showing up to well in the scan. Colored the image with Prisma pencils and added some stickles for a bit of bling. The sentiment is also AMuse...dashing through the snow. Paper is Neenah and I believe the ribbon is CTMH.

Thanks for stopping by!

A*Muse December 2008/2009 Calendar Pages

Wow...can't believe it is December already! We are busy putting up Christmas in the house today and tomorrow. After being married 39 years we have a lot of Christmas decorations. *grin*
Here are the December '08/'09 A*Muse Calendar pages.
The top calendar page is this year and is stamped with an Elzybells stamps...will have to post later this evening the name of the stamp. I colored the image with my prismapencils and did some stickles for the snow and the trim on her coat/boots. I love this stamp and I'm sure I will be making some Christmas cards with it.

The 2009 December calendar page is stamped with an SU! stamp...will have to post later which set. I colored the image with my SU! watercolor crayons...this looks so great in real life.

I made something personalized for my daughter and my son for Christmas....but I can't post pics till Christmas. My daughter visits my blog and I don't want to ruin the surprise.
I'm also working on my Christmas cards and will be posting those during the week. These have to go in the mail by next weekend.

I'll be visiting my son, his wife and their 6 month old baby girl from the 12th. till the 19th....So I'll be up in Reno for a full week. Meaning...I have to have everything Christmas related finished by the 11th. Busy, busy, busy. *grin*
