Happy Birthday WMS

One of my all time favorite stamp companies is turning two on the 21st of May and Claire is having a party! We are having a tea party and I am bringing a cake slice.
Now I had planned on making a full cake and I do have all the pieces cut and scored...but I just ran out of time. This cake template is just too cute and very easy to assemble.
I will be going out of town for a long weekend and will be back late Tuesday afternoon. I promise to take better pics and post the details on what products I used. But in the mean time please stop by WMS and see what everyone has made for Claire's birthday tea party.

Thanks for stopping by!

CASEing Sandie

Claire over at Waltzingmouse Stamps challenged us to CASE a card/project from her three days of Spellbinders fun.
I picked Sandie to CASE. Here is Sandie's card which I just love. And I really hope Sandie doesn't mind that I posted her card here.

Now I really, really stretched this CASE but the basic design is definitely there.
This is my version:

This cute little tea bag baggie is a freebie download that Claire so generously shares.

PTI Birthday Contest

Did you hear the news? PTI is having a birthday...three years! Wow!!!
In celebration of their birthday Nichole is having a contest with lots of birthday goodies. Make sure you check it out.

Here's my birthday card for the drawing:

I love using blue/brown together and isn't this cupcake darling?!?!
The cardstock is PTI and the dotted patterened paper is from that huge slab of paper I bought years ago at Costco. The chocolate yummy ribbon is also from PTI.

There is still time for me to do another card...I have till 7am tomorrow morning. Guess I'd better get cracking if I want two entries. *grin*
Enjoy!

An AMuse Lounge Challenge Card

This card is a challenge from the AMuse Lounge Challenge...Make a card using our newest Amuse stamps. I love this little balloon bouquet stamp and sentiment. Great for birthdays! I colored the image with my glaze pens for a bit of dimension. The cardstock was cut/embossed with my new Spellbinders Labels 2 Nesties...love how these dies add a bit of dimension to paper. This was then backed with AMuse Kitchen Green CS which I ran through my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. I added some light green dotted ribbon to match. This card design came together quickly. Shhhh Don't tell...but I'll be sending this card to my grandson for his 14th birthday.
OMGoodness where did the time go. Yikes!

A*Muse Home Page

This is a card I made for the A*Muse Addicts home page contest. We had to make a card showing "warmth". Yeah I know what you are thinking..."How does this show warmth". LOL Well, I have a drink and it makes me warm. So there's the warmth. LOL
I stamped AMuse Holiday Drinks stamp in black stazon and colored with my Prismapencils. I also used some stickles on the drink stirrers for a bit of bling. I ran my one and only nestie shape through my cuttlebug...love this and need to invest in a few more shapes after Christmas. I dotted the scallops with my SU! white gel pen. Added the poppy PTI white dotted ribbon and pop dotted the image piece onto the card. I love how this came together. I forgot to mention I was inspired by Rochelle for this card. *smile*

Weekly Challenge #53: Let's Celebrate!!

This weeks challenge over at A*Muse is to make a card that celebrates something. Since I just finished a swap card for the month of July...I thought I would enter this Birthday card.

I love this little girl on a swing...so care free. I did a bit of masking just to see if I remembered how to and it worked! Can you just imagine yourself on a nice sunny summer day out in the yard...grass and flowers ....just swinging the day away. This is how I think all birthday's should be celebrated....very care free.
I colored the images with my prisma pencils and blended with gamsol. I added stickles for a pop of sparkle on the flowers...not sure if they show up to well on the scan. I made a little pocket behind the green CS to slip a sentiment that was stamped on a tag.

Let's Party!

I am sooo addicted. *grin* Addicted to A*Muse Addicts! I just love the clean and simple style of the A*Muse (and Elzybells) stamps. I actually post, shop and do challenges all in the name of stamping. *grin* This Saturday August 2nd. at 8PM CST is a big meeting of A*Muse addicts. Since we can't meet in person we are having a VMAA (Virtual Meeting of A*Muse Addicts). Now what do we do at a VMAA you ask? There will be challenges that we have to complete in 30 minutes using a theme. And what's a party without prizes! This is tons of fun and I'd like to invite you all to join us this Saturday evening...so Let's Party!!!

Polka Dot Challenge

There is still time to register!

You know something....you all could be having as much fun as I am over at A-Muse-A-Palozza. There is still time to register and have fun with all the great challenges. Oh did I forget to mention all the fantastic prizes that they are giving away?!?! Lots and lots of A Muse stamps and products! Now what are you all waiting for....go register. And don't forget to mention that I (Nancy Lucas) sent you! Enjoy!

Today's card is what I came up with for Michelle's Challenge. This was another fun challenge...had to use Polka Dots. As you probably have been wondering why I use a lot of A Muse yellow kitchen note cards in my projects....that's the only A Muse paper I have! *grin* Really need to place another A Muse order. *cha ching* (sound of my Visa being used)

I just love how this card came out! I ran the blue cs through my swiss dots cb folder then backed that on a nice yellow cs and added just a strip of A Muse yellow kitchen for a pop of polka dots. The Seattle Girl stamp was colored with PrismaPencils and blended with gamsol. I then punched the image with my 1 3/8" SU! punch and backed with the SU! scallop punch. I added yellow glaze dots to the scallop. Added some yellow/white polka dotted ribbon I received from a ribbon share.
Someone on another board mentioned this card reminds her of the girl on the salt container. *grin* I think she's right!

A*Muse*A*Palooza and AP Sketches

You know something....you all could be having as much fun as I am over at A-Muse-A-Palozza. There is still time to register and have fun with all the great challenges. Oh did I forget to mention all the fantastic prizes that they are giving away?!?! Lots and lots of A Muse stamps and products! Now what are you all waiting for....go register. I've decided to do more sketch challenges...I need all the help I can get with my cards. *grin*
Tisha over at AP (A*Muse*A*Palooza) had a couple sketch challenges posted and these are the cards I entered. The image Take Out Box I received in an image swap and colored with my PrismaPencils and blended with gamsol...punched with my circle punch. I ran a scrap piece of CS through my CB Swiss Dots folder then punched with the scallop punch. I've been wanting to make a card with the ribbon running through the slot punch...I've seen so many cards like this on SCS. Just received my SU! order and decided to break in my new slot punch on this card. Love, love how this looks! The patterned paper is from the huge slab from Costco. I believe the red CS is Bazzill. Ribbon is from a ribbon share. Simple but quick Valentine card. Yes, I know I'm either a bit late or quite early. *grin*

The second card is the next part of the sketch challenge. This time I used the 4 bar A Muse Kitchen collection note card as my base. I love the Lemonade Stand by A Muse and received a bunch from an image swap. Colored with PrismaPencils and again blended with gamsol. I added some grass with a green prismapencil. This is not showing up to well in the scan...sorry. Scallop oval is PTI Lemon Tart CS...which I thought was quite appropriate. *grin* Used my SU! white pen to dot the scallops. Ribbon is PTI...gorgeous! This was a fun/quick challenge.

Twinkle Time Challenge

I've been participating in A-Muse-A-Palooza Challenges over at A Muse and having a blast. I'm a bit behind in posting my AP cards here on my blog so bear with me. *grin* Here's the Twinkle Time Challenge from Taylor's blog. We were challenged to incorporate some "bling" on our cards. This image is Seattle Girl from A Muse...has got to be my all time favorite A Muse image! After stamping the image I punched it with my circle punch. I then backed that with PTI lemon tart CS that was punched with the scallop punch. Image is colored with PrismaPencils and blended with gamsol. The scallops were dotted with my yellow glaze pen for a bit of dimension. I added sparkling glitter diamond dots by Stampendous for the rain drops...that's the bling! I used an A Muse yellow kitchen note card for the base. Love how this card came together.

Nichole's Clearly Creative Challenge

I spotted this challenge awhile ago and knew eventually I would make a card using this technique. I won't go into the details here but be sure to check out Nichole's Blog for all the instructions for this different and unique card. I used scraps from the SU! hostess 6x6 designer paper. SU! Little Birdie Told Me set stamped on PTI white and colored with my SU! watercolor crayons. That was backed on a scrap of Garden Green. Punched the corners with the ticket punch and added light yellow eyelets. The Lemon Tart CS and the ribbon is from Papertreyink. Love, love their Lemon Tart. To me it is the perfect yellow. This was a fun card to make and something I never ever would have thought of on my own. And that is why Nichole owns her own stamp company. *grin*

Taylor's CupCake Challenge #17

I love doing Taylor's challenges .... they really push my card making to a different level. This cute frog is from an image swap on SCS...sorry can't remember who the stamp company is. The cute froggie is colored with my PrismaPencils and blended with gamsol. Also used a glaze pen for the flower center so it would pop a bit. I had just gotten in a new order from Papertrey ... all lemon tart. I have had the worst time trying to find a yellow that I like and I have finally found it at papertrey. I used papertrey's lemon tart card stock, ink and the most gorgeous twill...definitely not the twill from when I was growing up. I just knotted the lemon tart twill ribbon and adhered it to the MakingMemories green buttons with glue dots .... then glue dotted them to the paper. The green CS is Garden Green from SU!. Also used SU! designer paper from the 6x6 hostess pack. Love this! The sentiment is from A Muse...stamped in SU! garden green on PT lemon tart.
I'm really pleased with how this card came together.

Better Late Than Never

I'm just a bit late doing Taylor's CupCake Challenge
but as the saying goes...better late than never. *grin* This was a fun card and doing challenges really gets me to think differently about a card design. Have to do more challenges. The patterned paper is from the huge slab I bought at Costco last year...My Minds Eye. Navy CS is bazzil which I ran through my Cuttlebug and punched with the square scallop punch. Also used SU! wild wasabi for the green. Added a strip of wild wasabi, that I cut with decorative scissors, under the patterned paper for an added touch.
I had found these $1 acrylic stamps at Michael's a while ago and thought they were perfect for this card. Sorry this is a bit dark...trust me the navy cs was cuttlebugged. *grin*

This card has been sent to my sister who is back in the hospital. She's having a tough journey lately.

Color Challenge

I decided to try my hand at Kristina's weekly color challenge. I did not have SU! So Saffron or Sahara Sand...so I went into my stash of paper and found some paper that was similar. I colored the image with my SU! watercolor crayons. I have never participated in a color challenge before and it was a bit of a challenge. *grin* But it definitely got me thinking out of the box.
