Dancing With The Stars

I am a huge fan of the TV show Dancing With The Stars. Sooo when my son offered me two tickets to the DWTS
Tour Show...I immediately said yes! (my son works for the Phoenix
Coyotes and when there is a show at the Glendale Arena he gets two
tickets) So my daughter and I went to the show last night...WooHoo!!!! The tour show is soooo much better than the tv
show. A very high energy show. And the music....amazing!!!! Oh be still
my heart....Wayne Newton didn't dance but he sang four songs!!! What a
show and I had a blast! Just had to share.

A Christmas Gift

I'm thinking of taking a short blogging break for the holidays.
Hopefully I'll be back sometime next week. In the mean time I'd like to
wish every one who stops and reads my bog a very Merry Christmas!
I made this nugget tin for the lady that does my hair. Who doesn't like chocolate! This tin was quick and easy. Again I'm not sure who the patterened paper is from...sorry. But you would understand if you only could see my stamping room and table. *grin* Total mess! I really need to clean it up so it looks a bit presentable and so I'll be able to find stuff. I know I had ordered some page pebbles but for the life of me couldn't find them this week. As soon as the holiday's are over I will be cleaning/purging my stamping/scrapbooking room. I need some organization! Be sure to check back early next year for some blog candy...with all the cleaning I will be doing I'm sure I'll have some neat things to share. So I guess that will be one of my New Year's resolutions....along with trying to eat healthy.

More Christmas Tags

I made these Christmas Gift Tags from PIF rak's I received on SCS. The ladies there are very generous with the images they offer up on PIF. I love how these little gift tags made with Elzybells turned out. Punched the image with my square scallop punch then colored them with my Prisma pencils and Gamasol. Backed on red bazzill paper and added doodles with the SU! white gel pen. Used Papertreyink white cardstock for the tag and used a Creative Memories scallop corner rounder. The tin is the 8 oz square from papertreyink. Not sure who made the green/gold patterned paper...but the red ribbon is more MayArts. I bought a spool of 100 yards because I go through so much red grosgrain. *grin* Did I mention that I love how this little gift turned out? *grin*

Christmas Projects

I've been busy this week making gifts for my two grandsons to give to their teachers. The tea tin is from papertreyink
and it's filled with homemade hot chocolate mix. Here' a link
to Nichole's great tutorial . It works much neater and better to punch
two holes in the label and wrap the ribbon around the tin. Trying to
adhere a label to a cylinder doesn't work to well....ask me how I know.
*grin*
The stamp set (Holiday Treats) is also from Papertreyink. Lately this has been my favorite online store....and I have my Visa bill to prove that statement. *grin*

Another project using Papertreyink tins...I just
love these little tins! Christmas Gift tags with decorated tin. I
covered the outside with patterned paper and added someMayArts ribbon to the lip of the tin lid using tacky tape.
Don't know where I found this idea to use the large scallop punch to make tags...think it was SCS.
These tags are quick and easy! Each tin holds ten tags.
I used the smallest snowflake stamp from the Snowflake Serenade Papertreyink set by stamping in Versamark and then heat embossed in silver embossing powder. Adhered that circle to a SU! scallop punched card stock. I added a circle piece of white CS to the inside for the "to/from", then added some red ribbon.

Christmas Card 2007

Well I was determined to finish up my Christmas cards this weekend and have them in the mail today (Monday). DH didn't believe me and said why do you insist on making them...just go out and buy some boxed Christmas cards. **Oh the horrors of that statement** grin.
The man has absolutely no clue that this not only gives me a rush but I've got a fortune invested in these stamps and supplies. LOL
I normally make three or four different card designs...but this year I decided to just mass produce one design. I just LOVE how this card turned out!
Isn't he the most adorable snowman yet?!?! I bought him from WhipperSnapperDesigns a few years ago and never had inked up this stamp. If you have never used WhipperSnapperDesigns stamps you really should...they ink up and stamp so nicely. Nice and crisp.
I bought the CB folder back in July and knew I had to use it for my Christmas card. Try to find this folder now. Ha! I used SU! WaterColor crayons and my prisma pencils to color the image.
Bazzill paper and the ribbon is CTMH organdy crystal blue...it really matches the blue paper.
The sentiment is from my newest favorite stamps....Papertreyink.com.
This week/weekend I will be working on teacher gifts and gifts for some friends. Will try to post the finished projects.
Did I mention that I will be going to see Mannheim Steamroller this Saturday night....I just love their music!

Christmas Photo Cube

Still working on those Christmas cards...I'm such a procrastinator. *grin*
But I have the last of the projects that I worked on last weekend to show you. This is a Photo Cube that the great ladies on SCS posted. I didn't have any recent pics of the grandkids to put on the cube so I just made it a Christmas Cube.
And the other two sides...
This project took a bit more time to finish...only cause I had a tough time deciding how to decorate each side of the cube. I wanted them all to blend together but didn't want it too cutesy. There are actually two projects in one with this cube. I made the Tag Punch Star to finish off the top of the cube. This star may look difficult to make but once you get the hang of it...it goes pretty quickly.
The main paper for the cube is Figgy Puddin, I also used Bazzill for the solid CS. There is not a lick of stamping on this project. LOL I used some Rub-ons...quick and easy. Also a ton of Jolee's. I love how this turned out!

Origami Gift Box

Just popping in for a few minutes to post this very easy Origami Gift Box that was featured on SCS.
This gift box is so easy to make you will wonder why you didn't think of it first. *grin* This is the perfect size box for that extra special gift this Christmas. I love, love how mine turned out!
The patterned paper is from My Minds Eye from the big slab I bought at Costco. I used my SU! tag punches for the silver embossed tag. Silver cord is SU! and the red ribbon I bought from TexasJodyLynn in one her many, many ribbon shares.

DH and I have been putting up Christmas all day and still aren't finished. *frown* I need to pack away my knick knacks in the dinning and living rooms so I can do Christmas in those rooms. DH is planning on putting up the lights outside tomorrow morning...but I think he will have to rethink those plans. We are suppose to get some much needed rain tomorrow and Saturday. I love rainy days and will probably be working on Christmas cards.

A Few Christmas Projects

I can't believe it's Wednesday already...the week is just flying by. This past weekend I decided to sit down in my stamping room and make some of the Christmas projects from SCS.

This first photo shows all four SCS Christmas projects I made this weekend....but I will just show one up close for today.

I just love how cute and easy this little treat box is to make! The treat box on SCS is larger. Mine is made from a 6"square and scored at 2" and 4"....turned and scored at those same dimensions. Looks like a checker board. Pop eyelets on each corner (8 total) ribbon slipped through the eyelets and tied in a bow. Cute and simple!

Thanksgiving

I'd like to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!
This is my most favorite holiday and time of the year....no pressure holiday. Except that I will be cooking a 22 pound turkey dinner for 8. I have been making turkey dinner for the past 39 years...so it's not a big problem. I pretty much have it down to a routine. *grin*
My Thanksgiving cards went out in Monday's mail from the post office...they will all probably be delivered late. Not the post office fault...just my procrastination. I just can't seem to get into the "holiday" mood. I have the time to stamp but just don't seem to have the umph lately.
Hope this passes soon...I need to get started on my Christmas cards.
Well here is my Thanksgiving card for this year. Nothing spectacular...but I will post anyway.

Ireland

I've been home from my Ireland trip just over a month now....so I thought I would post a few pics. This picture is of me in the limo on our way to JFK for our flight to Ireland. Here's a picture of my sister Kathy (katiepeg) and I out on a jaunting car ride in Killarney.It was an early morning and was quite chilly...but we loved it. This last pic of Ireland just takes my breath away....this is very typical scenery while driving through Ireland. And we saw a gazillion sheep! *grin*

Another Bella card

I actually did some stamping last week. My daughter asked me to
make a get well card for a reading teacher her son (my grandson) had
last year. I pulled out my stamped images ofBellas that I received from RAK's. This card was quick and easy .... I just used my circle on the feelabella then back that with some SU! DP that was punched with my scallop circle punch. Backed all that with a circle of Bazzill green...to bring in a different color. And of course I ran some bazzill
pink through the CB. Love that folder! Added a little bit of ribbon
from a ribbon share and plopped on some Making Memories flower brads.
I'm happy with this card and my grandson was happy also.

Wedding Shower Card

I absolutely had to clean my scrapbooking/stamping desk today....needed to make a wedding shower card that I had to get in the mail today. So when I'm pinched for time and ideas...I CASE! *grin*
This card is pretty much a CASE from CuttersCallous over at SCS.
I just love how this card turned out. Kinda strange to use chocolate brown for a shower card (especially since I'm not a big fan of brown )...but I think it's quite striking.
I used SU! Au Chocolat designer series paper, Chocolate Chip card stock and ink.I also added a layer of silver cardstock. Punched the circles from my giga and mega punches and used dimensionals to pop it up a bit. Ran a bit of cream paper through my devine swirls cuttlebug and added some silver backed pearl brads. The Best Wishes is from SU!'s Elegant Greetings.
I added a Target club wed gift card inside. I'm hoping to be able to get to PA for the wedding in November...we shall see.
Wow, wow, wow....can you believe it's only 17 days till I leave for my Ireland trip?!?! Time is ticking by quickly. I intend to enjoy each and every second of my once in a life time dream trip!
Things are falling into place and shopping is almost finished. LOL You should see my bedroom...little piles (that are growing daily) of trip items all over. LOL
I even have a journal that's sitting and waiting to be used. I can't wait and I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. *grin*

My Car

I forgot...my poor car was almost stolen last Sunday night! Well actually it was probably very early Monday morning.
I park my car (1993 Dodge Spirit) in my driveway cause my DH parks his car and his "Toy" (Corvette) in the garage.
They broke the front passenger window, cut the steering wheel and broke the plastic thingy where the key goes...but that's it. We and the police figure something scared him and he didn't take my car for a joy ride.
The funny part is that I have "The Club" on my stearing wheel and it wasn't locked...just on the stearing wheel. The dumb bell actually cut the steering wheel! He didn't even notice the club wasn't locked! What a stupid idiot.
Oh well...that's life.
So now my DH is outside in 109 heat fixing my car so I have my wheels again.
I actually wish that it did get stolen...So my DH wouldn't have to work on my car in this heat.

Can We Say....Anxiety

OMGoodness....A little over a month till I leave for Ireland and I'm getting anxious. Seriously.
I'm
very excited but can't believe all the little things I still have to
shop for the trip. So that is causing anxiety. *grin* Kinda silly
actually if I stop and think of the big picture.
I still have a good
bit of clothes shopping to do...need a couple pair jeans, tops, gym
shoes, socks...etc. And I can't forget to get the film! I'm still in
the dark ages and use film. I have a very old (read ... big/clunky)
digital camera. Which I'm not taking to Ireland...just my reliable
Cannon.
Then I have to figure out if I want to take my medium suitcase
and my small rolling suitcase (for all my shopping) I know I'm
stressing wayyyy too much! *smile*

I think I have totally lost my stamping mojo!
*sad face* I have not stamped a darn thing in the last two weeks...but
you couldn't tell it by the looks of my stamping room.LOL
Plus I will be house/dog sitting again next weekend. I'm really hoping I find my mojo and will be able to stamp. That's if I don't forget half my supplies.

Stamping Away From Home

Have you ever stamped away from home? Well I do...and I always forget at least one stamping item. Very frustrating to say the least!
I'm house/dog sitting (Thursday thru Monday) and thought what a great opportunity to get some cards made. Not! At least not as many or the one set I wanted to work on.
Forgot to pack one particular set and also forgot the ribbon. Agggg
Well I did manage to finish this birthday card today and I'm not too sure if I like it or not.
I ran my Creative Memories green through my Devine Swirls folder....then added a layer of navy Bazzill card stock. The stamps are from the Michaels $1 acrylic bin stamped with Color Box Chalk Ink. Then colored in with SU! watercolor crayons. Polka dotted organdy ribbon is from one of the many ribbon shares I've joined.
Not sure who will be receiving this card...but at least I am one up on bday cards for now. *grin*

Another Bella!

Now...can you handle another Bella? *grin*
I just love working with my Bella stamps. I just love how this card turned out and I'm sure one of my sisters (not saying who) will love her birthday card. I stamped cakeabella on watercolor paper and used my SU! watercolor crayons to color her. (have I mentioned that I love using these...and I now have purchased the whole set *grin*) Backed cakeabella on Bazzill cardstock that was punched with the scallop punch. The DP is My Minds Eye...love this! I remembered seeing a card quite a while back that had a birthday candle attached. Don't remember who posted it on SCS....but I knew one day I would be using her idea.
I know my sister will love receiving one of my bella cards.

Grumpy

Just a quick blog update before I go in the pool for some exercise.
I made this card for one of my sisters who is going through a rough time right now. And she loved receiving my grumpabella! This bella (grumpabella) is probably my all time favorite of the Bellas....she's pretty much like me first thing in the morning. *grin* Uhhhh Trust me I'm definitely not pencil thin like the bellas. LOL I'm not a morning person. Takes me quite a while to wake up and become social. I'm better now than when I was growing up. LOL
The designer paper is My Minds Eye from the huge slab I bought from Costco. The solid green is Creative Memories. Snaps are Making Memories. I colored grumpy with SU! watercolor crayons...love, love, love these!

Very Hot!

It's been very hot here in Phoenix this past week....and this week isn't any cooler. Temps of 109 to 111 predicted all week long. The pool temp is now 90 degrees. Just about bath water. *grin* But I love going in the pool when it's this warm. Definitely don't have the cold tummy shock. LOL
When the temps outside are this hot the best place for me is inside stamping! *smile*
And that's what I've been doing after the grandsons leave each day. I just love how this bella card turned out...just what I had pictured in my mind. Don't ya just love it when it works that way? I have quite a few birthday's coming up this month and next so I figured I'd use some of my Bellas.
I stamped Cosmobella on SU! watercolor paper and colored her with SU! watercolor crayons...love this technique. I ran the My Minds Eye DP through my devine swirls Cuttlebug and did the same for the Bazzill solid color cardstock. The ribbon is from one of the many ribbon shares I joined.
The snaps are Making Memories set with my Crop-A-Dile. This handy dandy little tool is probably one of my better purchases. I can now set snaps/eyelets while DH is sleeping without waking him. *grin*

Graduation Gift

I have absolutely no idea where the time gets to anymore...can't
believe it's been a week since I posted on my blog. Here in Phoenix we
are definitely in the lazy hazy days of summer....temps running 108 to
110 all week! One nice benefit of having such warm temps ... the pool
temperature is 90 degrees! Yes, you heard me right...90! Hard to
believe but it actually is very refreshing. *grin*

I was asked to put together something for a graduation gift. So my first thought
was a decorated paint can filled with cards and chocolate. The grads
favorite color is green and I love how the paint can turned out.
Sorry these images are a bit dark...I hurried when taking the pics.
The second picture shows the note cards I included: Birthday/Thank You/Thinking of You made with SU!'s Simply Said. This set is probably one of my all time favorite sets from SU!
I also used SU!'s Happy Harmony. Patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye huge pack of papers from Costco...love this!!! Solid green is Creative Memories. Ribbon and Primas are from various ribbon shares.

I'm back

Well I'm back...did anyone miss me? Heheheee
Life is just getting busy. Every summer for the past four summers DH and I have been watching the grandsons while they are on summer break. This keeps us quite busy. The boys are 10 & 12 so it's not like we are watching little ones. I'm soooo glad we have a pool...those two love playing and cooling off every afternoon after lunch. And so do Grammy and Pa~Pa!

Plans for my Ireland trip are coming along....final payment will be coming up in one month. Yikes, that will be one hefty payment!
As I'm typing I'm listening to "Celtic Woman". Thanks Kathy!!!!
I'm starting to shop for new clothes for the trip...something I don't do often enough. I love shopping for stamps but clothes are another subject.
Think I need an intervention with Stacy and Clinton. *grin*

Here's a birthday card I made recently for someone who likes frogs. I really like the way this card turned out...and it's not a CASE! *grin* Does that mean I'm growing as a stamper/artist?!?!

One More!


I decided to make one more gift for my grandsons teachers.
I fell in love with these altered coffee cups when I saw a few posted on SCS. Here's a few I drew inspiration from: Kisamari...just too cute!
Also here is one from her royal rubberness herself....Julie.
Some of you may not be able to see Julie's cup...it's in the Fan Club section of the SCS gallery.

I found these cups with lids at my local Fry's food store....ten in a pack for $2.59. Not too bad.
Filled them with Kudos bars and a local coffee house gift certificate. I think
they make a neat gift. This is probably one of my all time favorite
sets from SU!. There are so many possibilities when using Express Yourself. I water colored the image with my SU! water color crayons and an aqua painter...love this! All paper is Non SU! and the ribbon is from a ribbon share.
I highly suggest using sticky strip (red liner tape) on these cups. You will definitely need an adhesive that has a strong bond.

A One Layer Card


A lady that I know asked me to make some note cards for her mother for Mother's day.
I have always loved the one layer cards posted on SCS and I took inspiration from luvnailart's card.
This is my version of a very simple but I think elegant card.
I made a set of 12 note cards with a matching beaded pen. Unfortunately I forgot to take a pic of the set/pen before delivering. Ugggg
The lady loved them and kept saying her Mom will so love these cards! Made me feel good. *grin*

I took a scrap piece of card stock and punched my giga scalloped circle....used the "frame" for this card. Placed the frame where I wanted then just stippled SU! ballet blue for the background scallop. For the flower I used my chalk inks (azurite) and my mellow moss SU! marker for the stems.
Also used the chalk inks for the sentiment.
Simple and quick!

Taking It Easy Tonight

I'm being a bit of a baby tonight and taking it easy. *grin*
I was at a CM crop all day today. Finally finished up my Canada/New England Cruise album from September 2005 today .... WooHoo!!! Took me long enough! LOL
Thought it would be a good idea to finish up these pictures before I go to Ireland. I know I will have a boat load of pictures to crop from Ireland! Even bought a very pretty Irish green Creative Memories album today....I like to plan ahead. *smile*

Cup Card




On SplitCoastStampers they have a weekly tutorial on
Wednesday. Last Wednesday the Technique Tutorial was making a Cup Card. Well this is my version of the cup card...pretty much a
CASE. But I will get better at showing my own style.
When I was in "M" the other week I picked up some of the $1 acrylic stamps and the sun on this
card is from one of these sets. I used SU! Summer Sun ink pad. I just stippled on chocolate chip for the land/beach and used ballet blue for the sky.
My first attempt at making this card I used some sand with dazzling
diamonds for the land/beach....but couldn't get the cup to adhere no
matter what I used. :(
But I sure looked glittery after trying that technique! *grin* No matter how neat I try to be while using dazzling diamonds I always manage getting just as much on me as I do my project.
LOL
Sorry...this isn't the best photo. There is a bit of reflection on the micro beads.

I made a few of these cards and they are ready to be mailed out as RAK'S....hope they go through the mail without too much damage.

I hinted a few posts back that I was going to have some Blog Candy when details of my trip
were finalized. Well they are!!!!
I'm going to IRELAND!!! And yes I was yelling....LOL
This is a once in a lifetime trip for me...never thought I would ever

I'll be going on the September 19th tour for 13 glorious days in Ireland!
I also received my passport this past Friday....never ever did I think it
would take 12 full weeks to receive. Glad I applied early. *grin*

Teacher Gift




I have been busy the last few nights making this teacher gift. I have
got to be one of the slowest card/stuff makers out there. *grin* It
just seems to take me forever to finish a project like this...but I
love making them...so I guess that is what counts the most.
I made
this teacher coaster box for a special teacher. Then I thought...I
gotta make some cards to match to put in the box. So this is what I
came up with. I'm pretty pleased with how this project turned out.
I had one sheet left of this apple background paper and knew I had to use it. (I'm also very, very patterned paper challenged LOL ) I will be making a few more boxes and filling them with cards. Just need to find more school themed paper.
Before attaching the red card stock on the coaster I ran it through my Cuttlebug using my one and only flower embossing folder. Love, love, love this new toy!!!!

The stamp is Teachabella.
When I saw this stamp on the site I knew I had to add it to my ever
growing collection of stamps. My daughter-in-law is a teacher and my
daughter is finishing up her degree soon in education to teach second
grade.
Paper is Bazzill. I used my Prisma pencils to color and Gamsol to blend. I really like using this technique to color. Ribbon is from SU!

Wow...where has the time gone! It's been a busy week
for me so far. I need to make more time to post to my blog. Is anyone
out there reading this?!?!LOL
I just love this SU! set...Simply Said. It has to be one of my all time favorite sets from SU!
Can you tell I love the floral sets? *grin*
I sent this birthday card to my sister Bunny. All paper is Non SU!...either Bazzill or Creative Memories. Ribbon is SU!. I colored the two step flowers with SU! inks. For my sisters card I used the SU!
white gel pen to color in the daisy's. Actually this is a very
easy/quick card to make and I love having a supply of birthday cards on
hand to send.

I finally broke down on Sunday and went to Michaels and bought myself a Cuttlebug! WooHoo!!!!!
I did use the 40% off coupon but that bug is still a bit expensive. But
so far I think it's well worth the money. Only purchased a couple
embossing folders...haven't gotten any dies yet. But that is next on my
list of must haves. Waiting for the next "M" coupon to buy the Olivia
alphabet.Ohhhh I am sooo gonna love playing with this little green bug!

Easter Bella


I had received my first shipment of Bellas shortly before Easter and knew I was going to use Flowahbella for my Easter card this year. Would you believe this is my first non SU! stamp?!?! Not knocking SU! stamps...but what was I thinking??? There is a whole other world of rubber stamps out there. *grin*

All paper is Bazzill...I just love their textured papers! The ovals are cut with the Creative Memories Custom Cutting System. I colored the image with Prisma Pencils and used Gamsol to blend. The "Just Wanted To Say..." is from Stamping Bella.
I love how this simple card turned out.

Just wanted to let you know (anyone who actually stops by and reads my blog....I may be blogging to myself LOL) .....that there is a reason my blog is done in a green font. I will post that reason when plans are finalized and probably have blog candy.

I'm going to a LaCrosse game tonight....The Arizona Sting. They need to win tonight to host the playoffs.

Welcome!




Welcome to my very first blog post!
How exciting is this....well it's very exciting for me. *grin* I have never, ever done anything like this before.
I'd like to share a St. Patty's gift I made for a few friends/family. I just love making these chipboard coaster boxes. Decorating is soooo easy!
My local Safeway food store had shamrock plants on sale and I decided to
use the decorated coaster boxes for the plant....instead of adding
candy in a cello bag.
I need to thank a very special lady from SCS (Boss) who sent
me the "Kiss Me I'm Irish" stamp.
And I also need to thank Julee (Shadowcatcher) for the inspiration on these boxes!
Everyone loved receiving these!!!!
